200-Hour Yoga Teacher Training

Kenyan Coast, East Africa

10th March 2020 – 30th March 2020

Karuna (करुणां – Karuṇā) Yoga Journeys is very happy to announce its 7th, 200 hours yoga teacher training in Watamu, Kenya.

Watamu YTT 2.png

This is a 200 hour Yoga Alliance Certified training in the art of vinyasa yoga and creative sequencing where you will learn how to integrate the movement of the body to the rhythm of the breath with a deep understanding of the physical body, energy body and authentic alignment. There will also be an introduction to Yin Yoga and Trauma sensitivity in yoga.

This yoga teacher training will allow you to integrate the ancient wisdom of yoga into a modern day, creative, accessible practice. It will take you on a journey of self love, self discovery and transformation. You will deepen your knowledge and experience of yoga and emerge with a stronger, truer understanding of who you really are.

This training is so much more then just learning yoga poses and being able to teach asana. Yes you will learn alignment, intelligent sequencing, anatomy, how to cue etc but more then that you will embrace the responsibility of leading others into a healthier more whole way of life.

Each day, you will practice to unravel the layers of your mind and heart. By the end the training you will not only be a 200 hour Yoga Alliance Certified Teacher, but you’ll probably be in the best shape of your life; physically, mentally, energetically and biochemically!

The world needs more good yoga. We strongly believe the work we do is some of THE MOST valuable, important work on the planet. We are changing lives. And, we are changing the world. Impacting the communities we operate in is very close to our heart. Every YTT we offer a scholarship place to someone we believe will take the TTC and make a difference to the lives of others with it. Sometimes this is a local community member, other times we offer the certification to a person working with trauma or in a refugee camp who would not have been able to afford it.

We also strongly invest in the community we are creating offering ongoing support to our Karuna Yoga Fellows after the training has completed. Whether it’s assisting with retreat planning and marketing, advising with ongoing studies, helping organize service projects in prisons or linking our Fellows around the globe our community are essential for our happiness.

“In separateness lies the world’s great misery, in compassion lies the world’s true strength.” – Buddha.

LOCATION

Palm Garden Boutique Hotel, Watamu, Kenya

Please note, the venue for this training has been changed to Palm Gardens Boutique in Watamu in the light of recent travel ban for certain embassies on Lamu. The new venue is equally (if not more) beautiful and Watamu is an amazing part of the Kenyan Coast.

You can see our new location here: https://palmgardenkenya.com/en/

Sophisticated and uncluttered – it is a lovely place in which to immerse yourself in your practice and study and to kick back and relax.

Another building houses a spacious and beautifully-decorated dining room directly linked to the well-equipped kitchen. The rooftop makes a perfect star gazing deck.
